From the Desk of Meggin McIntosh

meggin-mcintosh-phdDear fellow “I’m-sort-of-freaked-out-right-now” friends,

When I created the Staying Positive Society a few years ago, it was unimaginable that we would need it now more than ever.  If at some point the whole world calms down and everyone is peaceful, productive, positive, and pleasant, then I’ll discontinue this personal workshop series…but until then, I’ll continue to do my part to help.

As someone who is profoundly affected by negative energy, it’s been clear to me for a while how distressed and upset many people have become.  I was talking with one of my coaching clients, sharing the idea with her, saying, “People are just freaked out and it’s harder to stay positive.” She said, “You should do something with this idea and call it what it is.”  That’s when this project was named.

The Staying Positive in a Freaked-Out World Personal Workshop Series supports YOU.  You need strategies to help yourself stay positive even if other people around you are seemingly going berserk.

Ultimately, you may also decide that you want to help those around you who are freaked out, but first, you need to keep yourself upright and moving forward.  You cannot change or positively affect those around you until you FIRST get yourself situated in a positive place.

Here’s what I know about the people who are natural members of the “Staying Positive in a Freaked-Out World Society:”

  1. You are a little freaked out (wigged out, crazed, scared, unsure, etc.)  This could be due to something that is happening very close to you or it could be happening in the larger world.  But either way, you can feel its impact.
  2. Also, very importantly, you know that these feelings are not your normal or preferred way of thinking and feeling – and that’s a bit of what is freaking you out.  Maybe you are accustomed to feeling ‘in control’ and you are now feeling completely out of control.  Or, maybe you know you are nearly always upbeat and positive but right now, you’re feeling something other than that. Regardless of what it is, you feel somewhat or totally ‘out of whack.’

For the last few years, many people have found that it is taking extra effort to stay in a ‘happy place.’  Our optimism is being tested a bit, to say the least.  And yet, it’s when our optimism is tested that it is most needed.

It takes courage to be optimistic and positive.

You can nurture that courage here.  Thankfully, I hear this from people in this group on a regular basis.

To support you in being courageous, optimistic, and positive, I have created weekly personal workshops for people like you.  Since I’ve taught thousands of classes and workshops throughout my career, you can trust that the Staying Positive Personal Workshops are set up in such a way that you will be affected – positively – each time you learn and re-learn from the written or audio materials.

You receive something once a week to give you a boost, some redirection, a strategy for focus, or some other tool that will get you going on – or staying on – a positive note.  Many people tell me that they find solace and comfort in listening and re-listening to my voice on the recordings.  Expect them to be fun, creative, and inspiring.

hearts-hands-gentlenessMore than anything else I’ve ever created, the Staying Positive in a Freaked-Out World Personal Workshops are written from my heart to your heart.  Expect them to be personal and expect them to affect you in a personal and powerful way.

Because there is so much pain worldwide right now, you may want to partner up with someone as you work through this program.  It’s helpful to have someone to process with and for that reason, I’d be happy to give you a second membership – at no additional charge – in the Staying Positive in a Freaked-Out World program when you buy yours.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  I’ll be hopeful you – and a friend – will be part of our group soon.

Sending you a hug.
